Adamawa State Police Command has vowed to fully enforce curfew imposed by the state government on Guyuk and Lamurde Local Government Areas, warning to clampdown on the violators of the curfew.
It could be recalled that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had on Thursday imposed dust to down curfew on the affected LGAs sequel to incessant clashes between Lunguda and Waja Communities as part of effort to contain escalation.
But the police command in a statement by the Public Relation Officer(PPRO), DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and available to NEWS PLATFORM Friday, said that the command is fully prepared to enforce the curfew to the fullest.
According to the state statement, the Command in collaboration with sister agencies will commence the enforcement of the directives with immediate effect so as to check escalation of the communal clashes in the affected areas.
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adeyanju had called on the general public particularly those in Lafiya and Guyuk communities to adhere strictly and respectfully obey such order until further notice.
He added that the command had already deployed a taskforce team which comprises of police and other security agents to enforce government's directives.
It warned officers and men deployed for the enforcement to display high level of professionalism by operating within the context of the law and respect human rights
It assured of its commitment to protecting lives and property, and called on people to desist from taking laws into their own hands, and further advised them to stay at home.
