POLICE NAB MASTERMIND OF GUYUK CLASHES, 15 OTHERS


Adamawa State Police Command says it has arrested Alhaji Halilu Lafiya, suspected mastermind of clashes between Lunguda and Waja communities in Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa state.

The command also said that it has apprehended 15 other suspects and recovered 2 guns and other dangerous weapons.

A statement by the Image Maker of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that Alhaji Lafiya and other suspects are now in police custody.

It stated that the command had while enforcing the law so far apprehended the suspects in connection to the clashes which claimed lives, and are all undergoing investigation .

It called on the general public particularly those in Guyuk and Lafiya Communities to remain calm and continue to give useful information to police.

The command further reassured of its commitment to protecting lives and property, and advised the citizens to desist from taking laws into their hands.

    The public is aware that this no doubt is a high profile case of a person that is notorious with the top echolon of security brass in the country who has severally paraded himself as above the law.

  3. I hope Justice will prevail, we are all watching to see if really this government and the judiciary is ready to give us fresh air or it will allow criminal to be parading our street and terrorising the citizens.the whole country is waiting to see the outcome of this arrest.
