CRIME: POLICE NAB 44 YR OLD MAN FOR RAPING UNDERAGE CRIPPLED GIRL IN GOMBI

Adamawa state Police Command has recorded another breakthrough its fight against sexual abuse by arresting a 44 year old Ezekiel Mahai for raping an under age physically challenged girl in Gombi Local Government Area.

The suspect and resident of Prakwanta Village in Gombi LGA was nabbed on the 22nd July, 2020 in connection with the offence.

 

A statement by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the State Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that the suspect monitored the movement of the mother of the victim and took advantage of her absence and raped the sick girl.

The Image Maker stated that the victim is now undergoing medical screening at a health facility, while the suspect is now under the custody and being investigation for the crime.

However, the command has called on the general public to key into the fight against Sexual Assault Against Women and Children, and further cautioned parents and guardians to closely monitor the movement of their wards.

Furthermore, it reiterated the command's commitment to protecting lives and property of the citizens, appealing to the general public not to relent  in reporting any suspicious movement around them for necessary action.
