To strictly align itself with the decision of the Federal Government towards the resumption of schools, the Adamawa State Government has today reversed its earlier decision for the resumption of schools across the state.
The State Government had fixed 4th August, 2020 as the resumption date for Primary Six pupils as well as students in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and those in Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) expected to write their terminal examinations.
The decision by the government to continue to allow schools to remain closed followed the recommendations of the Federal Ministry of Education that opening of schools will expose students to the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development in the State and signed by its Commissioner, Hon. Wilbina Jackson, and made available to newsmen in Yola on Friday, said that the Ministry has reversed its earlier decision on the resumption of schools, saying schools will remain closed until the pandemic contained.
