Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Adamawa State Council has joined hundreds of sympathisers in extending its deepest condolences to the immediate family and Bwatiye nation over the death of Bachama First Class Chief, Homun Honest Stephen Irmiya.
Specifically, the umbrella body of the practicing Journalists, has condoled Mbamto (Princess) and the entire members of the family of the deceased, Numan Traditional Council, Title Holders, Bwatiye nation as well as good people of Adamawa over the demise of Hama Bachama, Homun Kwirei Mana Kpafrato11.
Late Honest Stephen, Bachama Paramount Ruler died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness, and has since been committed to mother earth according traditional rites.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan and Comrade Fedelis Jockthan respectively and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Wednesday, expressed sadness over the death of the royal father.
The NUJ said it is deeply shocked and saddened over the sudden passing away of one of the Prominent Traditional Rulers in Nigeria who was always the delight of the media nation wide.
According to the statement, the hearts of entire Journalists bleed over the fallen Hero, brave, ex-gallant military officer, a king with passionate love for his subjects, peace-broker and a bridge-builder who revived the tradition and norms of the Bwatiye race, saying the members of the union light candle in honour of the departed king.
The statement added that the contribution of the First Class Chief to nation building is immeasurable and will forever be remembered in the annals of history, and prayed God to grant Mbamto and Bwatiye nation fortitude to bear the loss, and departed hero eternal rest.
