The Command in a statement by its image maker, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje on Tuesday, said that the suspect, Obiora Patrick was arrested on 20th July, 2020, at his resident Jimeta, Yola North LGA for raping his 9year old step daughter.
According to the statement, the suspect upon his arrest, voluntarily confessed to had committed the offence, saying that the victim is undergoing medical screening at a health center in Yola.
It called on the general public to key into the fight against sexual assault against women and children, and advised parents and guardians to closely monitor their wards.
The command further reassured of its commitment to protecting lives and property of the citizens, and urged on the public to continue reporting any suspicious movement around them.
