HON. ABUBAKAR REHABILITATES SHELLENG WATER SCHEME

76 YEAR OLD MAN IN COURT OVER THREAT TO DESTROY MANHOOD OF ADAMAWA JUDICIAL OFFICER

An Official of Adamawa State Judiciary has dragged a 76 year old retired Fire Service Officer, Gilbert Dan to Chief Magistrate Court II, Yola for threatening to destroy his manhood on account of alleged enticing his 59 year old wife. The 76 year old Gilbert has been charged to court for alleged defamation of character contrary to Section 377 of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law. Both the Judicial Staff who does not want his name in print, and the defendant reside in Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area in the state. Trouble broke out when the suspect was reported to had publicly accused the judicial officer of chasing his 59 year old lovely wife. The accused was said to had been peddling the allegation long before the last count without mentioning the name of the Judicial Officer until on Sunday, 7th March, 2020. ADAMAWA: 2 SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS IN POLICE NET

In its continued effort to rid Adamawa of criminality, the Police in the state have apprehended a gang of house to house armed robbers and recovered a lot of stolen properties from the suspects. The suspects had been terrorising Malamre, Bekaji and Karewa Quarters during which they robbed hapless citizens of their valuables. A statement signed by the Public Relation Officer of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM said the hoodlums were nabbed by the operatives of the command yesterday. DSP Nguroje advised general public especially those that were robbed of their belongings to report to the Criminal investigation Department(CID) of the command and identify their stolen properties.  While appreciating the general public for their support and corporation, the Spokesman further advised the public to report any suspected criminals around them to the police, reassuring of their commitment to protecting lives and property.

PROPERTY OF A MAN DIED 35 YEARS AGO TEARS FAMILY MEMBERS APART IN ADAMAWA

Family members of late Alhaji Umaru Hammanjoda Pasagida who died over 35 years ago in Girei Local Government Area, Adamawa State are now at each other's throat over the distribution of the property of the deceased. While some members of the family led by the wife of deceased, Fadimatu Manga are claiming that the property left behind by her husband are yet to be distributed, other members led by his brother, Bappa Hammanjoda said that the property had been distributed shortly his death. Alh. Umaru Hammajoda Pasagida, according to a family source died over 35 years ago in a car accident and left behind a wife, 2 daughters, an estate with 2 bedroom flat in Girei town, 3 cars, 7 cattle and some money. STAKEHOLDERS APPLAUD ADHA's MOVES TO CREATE HUMANITARIAN AGENCY

Participants at a public hearing organised by the International Republic Institute (IRI) on a bill for a law  to provide for the establishment of Adamawa State Agency for Humanitarian and Developmental Affairs have applauded the assembly for initiating the bill. The bill floated by the member representing Nassarawo Binyeri, Hon. Umar Nashon Gubi with Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada (Michika), Hon. Bauna Myandassa(Lamurde), Hon. Adwawa Donglock (Guyuk) and Hon. Bathiya Wesley as co-sponsors, was aimed at addressing the basic needs of the Internally Displaced persons. POLICE GUN DOWN ARMED ROBBER, RECOVER SHORT MACHINE GUN IN ADAMAWA

Police in Adamawa State State have shot death one armed and recovered Short Machine Gun rifle along Numan- Jalingo road in Numan Local Government Area in the state. According to statement signed by the spokesman of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM today, said that the the suspect was gunned down in a shoot out with the operatives of command. DSP Nguroje said that operatives of the command had while on Area patrol along Numan-Jalingo road intercepted a gang of armed robbers who blocked the high way and robbed travellers of their belongings. COURT CONVICTS MOTHER, CHILD FOR FALSELY ACCUSING A NEIGHBOUR OF WITCRAFT

A house wife and her 18 year old son have been convicted by the Yola Criminal Area Court II in Adamawa state for falsely accusing their neighbour of being a wizard. The 2 convicts, Zuwaira Sale, 38 and Garba Sale,18, as well as the complainant, Rukaiya Mohammed, 42 are residence of Saminaka, a suburb of Jimeta/Yola, Adamawa state. Trouble started when Zuwaira Sale lost her daughter, Hussaina Sale, and the complainant went to commiserate with them during which the convicts in separate outburst accused her for being a witch that killed their daughter. Instead of acknowledging the words of sympathy, the convicts asked the complainant to leave their residence immediately with Garba (the convict) threatening to beat her for causing the untimely death of his sister.
