ADHA APPROVES #17 BILLION LOAN FACILITY FOR GOV FINTIRI

Lawmakers at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have unanimously approved the whopping #17billion loan facility as requested by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the execution of critical development projects across the 21 Local Government Areas. It could be recalled that Governor Fintiri had sought the House of Assembly's approval to obtain the facility from 2 commercial banks for the execution of  projects across the state. The Governor's request as contained in 2 separate letters, were read at the resumed plenary session presided by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas on Tuesday. Fintiri had told the Legislators that #15 billion loan facility will be secured from a Fidelity bank for the tenor of 48 months at 13 percent interest rate and 0.5 percent management fee, saying it will be used to finance critical development projects across Adamawa. GOVERNOR FINTIRI: A BLESSING TO ADAMAWA STATE

Written by David Simon Dzalla We as People of Adamawa are extremely lucky to have His Excellency, Ahamadu Umaru Fintiri as our Governor. He is not like some Governors in the past who initiated projects and progrmmes for personal gains or as a way of scoring cheap political points. The governor's projects and progrmmes are people orientated and have direct benefit on the people of the state.  His Excellency, Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri, took over the mantle of leadership of the state at a time the state was highly indebted to tune of over one hundred and fifteen billion naira (N115b), bastardized Civil Service with massive last minute employment of un-needed workers by the past administration as a political tool to garner support in his bid to win a re-election to continue the mis-management of the resources of the state.  Prior to the advent of the administration of His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, government properties were being auctioned and lands being allocated to fami...

ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND RECOVERS 11 CATTLE FROM NUMAN ARRESTED COUNCILLOR

Adamawa state Police Command has announced the recovery of 11 cattle from the arrested Councillor represented Vulpi Ward in Numan Local Government Council, Hon. Makana Enan Ngari. Hon. Enan Ngari was recently declared wanted by the State Government and but subsequently submitted himself to the police over the allegations of cattle rustling. According to a statement signed by the Image Maker of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM today, said that the investigation into the matter has been yielding positive results, saying that so far, about 11 cattle in possession of the Councillor and others have been recovered. FINTIRI SEEKS ADHA'S APPROVAL TO OBTAIN #17 BILLION LOAN

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has sought the House of Assembly's approval to obtain the whopping sum of #17 billion loan facility from 2 commercial banks for the execution of critical development projects across the state. The Governor has also forwarded a letter to the House of Assembly, requesting it to restructure the existing term loan to the tune of #7.359 billion on the state government's SRA account with Zenith bank Plc for fresh tenor of 60 months based on new CBN interest rate of 14 percent. ADHA SHIFTS ADSEMA TO FINTIRI'S NEWLY CREATED MINISTRY

Legislators at the Adamawa State House Assembly have shifted the State Emergency Management Agency(ADSEMA) to the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Humanitarian Services created by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri upon assumption of office. The legislation entitled, " a bill for a law to amend the State Emergency Management Agency Law No. 6 of 2009, so as to move the agency to the newly created Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Humanitarian Services, make the Chairmanship of the agency Part-Time, the Executive Secretary as the Chief Executive Officer" was enacted by the state Legislators today. The action of the Honourable Members in moving the agency followed the third reading of a bill to that effect floated by the Member representing Shelleng Constituency, Hon. POLICE ARREST 30 SUSPECTS IN CONNECTION WITH ADAMAWA COMMUNAL CLASH

  The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 30 suspects in connection with Lamurde Government communal clash which left over 34 dead, while over 40 wounded. Equally, the command has recovered Dane gun, swords, cutlasses in connection with the weekend  clash. A statement by the spokesman of the command, DSP, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM said that those apprehended will be investigated and prosecuted accordingly.  The statement reiterated the commitment of the command to protecting lives and property of the citizens, calling on people to stay at home and remain safe. It added that the command in collaboration with sister security agencies will commence the full enforcement of the directives of the state government effective from today Monday 18th May, 2020.
