MAN DUPES ACCOUNTANT N277, 000 AFTER PROMISING HIM PRAYERS TO GET RICH

Kefas Brandford, the Defendant A middle age man identified as Kefas Brandford, was on Wednesday, docked for duping an Accountant Yobe State Ministry of Finance the sum of N277, 000. Kefas Brandford of Ganye Local Government Adamawa State duped Suleiman Ibrahim, of the said amount of money after he had promised him prayers to get rich as well as promotion in civil service. The defendant had promised to link his victim up with a native doctor in Ganye who will pray to gods to turn his fortunes around within short period of time. The Accountant who was introduced to the man via telephone by one Mustapha, kept paying money into the defendant's account to buy chikens and rams for sacrifice. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the government official had never met eyeball to eyeball with Kefas, untill 2 days ago when he was arrested. ADAMAWA POLICE INTERCEPT, DETAIN 21 CAMEROON BOUND SUSPECTS FROM ZAMFARA

Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 21 suspects who are mostly youngmen believed to be on their way to Cameroon Republic from Zamfara State. Those arrested include; Bilyaminu Abubakar, 24, Salisu Abubakar, 40, Murtala Alhaji, 26, Zainu Abubakar, 25, Lawali Abubakar, 20, Hassan Abu, 22, Ishaka Umar, 33, Abubakar Liman, 35, Musa Aliwali, 26, and Lawal Mohammed, 20. Others are; Abubakar Umar, 27, Lawali Modi, 23, Rabiu Salisu, 26, Haruna Adamu, 20, Umar Mohammed, 25, Kabiru Mamman, 20, Bashiru Sani, 20, Naziru Abubakar, 21, Mudasiru Abubakar, 19, Yushawu Lawali, 25 and Ibrahim Lawali, 22. ADAMAWA TEACHERS MARK DAY, SEEK BETTER WELFARE

Teachers in Adamawa State have joined their counterparts across the globe in marking 2022 World Teachers Day with a call on the government to improve on their welfare. The teachers appealed to the government to implement new minimum wage of more especially teachers in Primary Schools which their counterparts in Post Primary Schools are enjoying since 2019. More so, the teachers urged the government to commence implementation of promotion to teachers in Primary Schools, payment of professional allowance of 27.5% to teachers who acquired requisite professional qualifications to boost their morale. Additionally, the teachers pleaded with the present administration to elongate 5 years of service so as to cover all categories of teachers across Adamawa State. The Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, has congratulated the Hama Bachama, HRM. Homun Dr Daniel Shaga Ismaila, on his conferment of National Honour by President Muhammadu Buhari. The Paramount Ruler of Bachama Kingdom and Founder Royal Chapel of Peace was awarded with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CON) by President Buhari. Rt. Hon. Mackondo, in his goodwill message on his behalf and Numan Constituency in general, felicitated with the Royal Father over the award, saying that the prestigious award is not only for the King but his entire domain. 37 KILLED, 58 INJURED, 89, 000 FARMLANDS SUBMERGED IN ADAMAWA FLOODING

Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency(ADSEMA), says about 37 people lost their lives, while 58 others sustained injuries in the 2022 flooding. According to the agency, 171, 000 persons were affected, while 89, 000 hectres of farmlands were submerged in Madagali, Fufore, Yola South, Yola North, Girei, Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk and Shelleng LGAs and some parts of the state. It said that both private and public property worth millions were destroyed, adding that structures such as schools, health centres, market squares, places of worship, households and several others were affected. The Executive Secretary of ADSEMA, Dr. Muhammad Amin Suleiman, disclosed this in a chat with NEWS PLATFORM on Saturday. Dr. Suleiman, said that the natural disaster which was recorded exceeded what was predicted, explaining that it was predicted that only fronline LGAs on the bank of River Benue would be affected.
