The 7th Adamawa State House of Assembly has presented a brand new Toyota Starlet to the Assembly's Security Guard, Zira Kwaji, for his dedication and commitment. NEWS PLATFORM  Presentin the car keys to Zira during valedictory session of the Assembly on Friday, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, commended him for his dedication to duty. Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, said that the Assembly found it necessary to reward him considering his commitment to his official responsibility.  He said that Zira is the first person who opens and closes the Assembly complex, saying that the beneficiary is always on his post and urged others to emulate him. On his part, the member representing Yola North constituency, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki, donated the sum of N100,000 to Zira to buy fuel and urged him not to relent in his good work. Responding, the Zira Kwaji, thanked the Speaker as well as the members, Clerk to the Assembly for gesture, and promised to continue to perform his duty diligently.

Police in Adamawa State have apprehended a 19 year old Auwal Abdullahi for raping a 16 year old Blessing whom he claims to be his girl friend. NEWS PLATFORM  Auwal, a tricycle operator and hails from Nasarawo Borehole, admitted having raped the girl, but insisted that she is his girl friend.  The accused was arrested on the 6th June, 2023 as confirmed by the spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on Thursday. While narrating the incident, the suspect said he fell in love with Blessing for about 6 months ago and  even planning to get married. He said he had informed his father about his plan to take her as wife, and that his father asked him to exercise patience until he builds a house. He said that he met her on the day of the incident where they sell food, and that while he was eating, the girl collected his phone and tapped his number and saved it in her friends phone. A  gang of kidnappers have struck again, abducting the Wife of Adamawa State High Court Judge known as Zainab Abbas. The incident reportedly occured between the hours of 1:00am to 2:00am on Wednesday at Nyibango, Army Barracks road in Jimeta Yola. It could be recalled that about 2 weeks ago, a gang of kidnappers stormed the community and whisked away pastors. In a statement on the abduction of the Wife of the High Court Judge, the Adamawa State Police Command has vowed to rescue the victim. The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, said that the command has deployed operatives drawn from the Crack Squad,Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT) for the rescue mission. The statement which was signed by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM added that the operatives are to carry out tactical and intelligence driven rescue operation. Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 25 years old man identified as Suleiman Auwal for allegedly stealing a tricycle. Auwal who hails from Yobe State but resides at Asorok, in Jambutu,Yola North LGA has since confessed to the crime. The accused made away with the tricycle (Keke NAPEP) belonging to one Abubakar Usman on Friday, the 2nd June, 2023, at Juma'at Mosque, Jimeta Ultra Modern Market. The suspect, who also performed his prayer at the Mosque, hurriedly completed his prayers and rushed to where tricycles were packed and stole one of it. He confessed that he was using it for commercial purposes around Wullere in Jambutu until when he was arrested. He explained that he was paying the sum of N100 to a local security man in order to guard the tricycle so that nobody will steal it.
