7-Man Syndicate Arrested for Tricycle, Motorcycle Theft in Adamawa

  The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 7- man syndicate who specialise in stealing as well as selling of stolen tricycles and motorcycles in Yola metropolis. The arrest followed a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation which also led to the recovery of two stolen tricycles and one motorcycles. This is contained in a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to News Platform in Yola. He explained that the operatives of the Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID) acted upon credible information and apprehended one Mohammed Alhaji, 25 years old, of Hulere Ward, Yola North LGA on the 24th June, 2025. According to him, during interrogation, the suspect confessed being part of a syndicate that specialise in the theft of tricycles and motorcycles in Yola. The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29 years old man identified as Zaphaniya Alfred for armed robbery at Zangun in Numan LGA. The operatives of command recovered 1 locally made pistol, 2 AK-47 live ammunition, 1 pistol live ammunition, 1 live cartridge. Others items recovered from the Accused include pair of military camouflage, uniform, 4 military camouflage caps, 2 military camouflage T-shirt,  black torch light.  A release by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the arrest followed a formal complaint made by one Ibrahim Maikano whom the the suspect had threatened to kill him. Court Discharges Student, Farmer Falsely Accused of Kidnapping in Adamawa

A High Court No. 2 sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has discharged and acquitted a Secondary School Student as well as a farmer accused of criminal conspiracy, attempt and threat to commit kidnapping.  The Court presided by Hon. Justice Bulila Ladukiya Ikharo, discharged and acquitted Mohammed Shu’aibu and Samaila Suleiman, after spending about 4 years behind bars. Both Defendants who hail from Hong LGA in Adamawa State were earlier arraigned before the court on a Three (3) count amended charge of conspiracy, attempt and threat to commit kidnapping contrary and punishable under Sections 249 (1), 249 (2) and 249 (3) of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law 2018. On their arraignment, both Defendants pleaded not guilty to all the allegations, after which the Prosecution assembled three (3) witnesses and tendered extra judicial statements of the Defendants in evidence. Recruitment: Adamawa CSC Drops 44, 099 Applications

The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has released the outcome of the screening exercise of applications for the ongoing employment exercise into the State workforce. According to the Civil Service Commission, out of 96,102 applicants, 52,003 candidates were deemed eligible to proceed to the next stage. This is contained in a release by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The Commission cited the following reasons for disqualification: Candidates with NCE qualifications not part of the initial process, wrong applications with mismatched fields of study and qualifications Others include overaged candidates, incorrect document uploads, non-indigenes of Adamawa State, existing local government council employees. The Arch Bishop of Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN Most Rev. Musa Panti Pilibus has decried the brutal wave of killings in Benue State. A statement signed by the Arch Bishop noted that armed men suspected to be cattle herdsmen launched deadly assaults on communities in Guma Local Government Area where over 100 lives were taken in Yelwata and Daudu, with some reports estimating as many as 200 deaths, including women, children, and security personnel.
