Adamawa Police Nab Man who Displayed Gun on Social Media

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 32 years old man, Anas Dauda, in possession of Ak-47 rifle. The suspect who hails from Jalingo B area, Lamorde Ward, Mubi South Local Government Area, was nabbed for unlawful possession of a firearm. This is contained in a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to newsmen in Yola. He said, "The arrest followed a video circulating on social media showing the suspect displaying an AK-47 rifle loaded with three magazines making disturbing and threatening comments. "He claimed that he will sell or lease the weapon for a certain amount of money. The video, which caused panic amongst residents, was promptly brought to the attention of the Command". The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening accountability, advancing criminal justice reforms, and promoting value reorientation among Nigerian youths. The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, was on Sunday, conferred with Ndi Igbo chieftaincy title by the Igbo Cultural Association Adamawa state (ICA) and the Council of Elders. The Igbo community in Adamawa State honoured the Speaker with " Okwuruoro Ndi Igbo" meaning Peoples' Advocate in recognition of his achievements. Likewise, the Igbo community bestowed traditional title on Chief Maurice Vunobolki. Rt. Hon. The ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has asked the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, to allow it amend major error in its petition against the Member representing Ganye Constituency at House of Assembly, Hon. Misa Musa. News Platform  The party and its Candidate at the just concluded bye-election for Ganye Constituency Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Buba Mohammed Joda, jointly filed petition dated 6th September, 2025, challenging the election of Hon. Misa of the APC. In their relief 2 as contained in the petition, Hon. Joda and the PDP erroneously sought for an order of the tribunal directing the return of Hon. Misa Musa, 1st respondent as winner of the election instead of Hon. Joda, 1st petitioner. It is against this backdrop that the petitioners in order to save their petition filed a motion on notice seeking for the amendment of particularly relief 2 considering how it has punched serious holes in the entire petition. The Candidate of the Labour Party at the just concluded bye-election for Ganye Constituency Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Brandford, has filed an application seeking to withdraw his petition against Hon. Misa Musa, representing Ganye at the assembly. Hon. Brandford is seeking to withdraw his petition which he had earlier filed before the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state, challenging the election of Hon. Misa Musa of the APC. In his petition, Hon. Brandford and his party alleged that the election of Hon. Misa was invalid across the constituency for non compliance with the Electoral Act, Manuals for Election Officials and Regulations and Guidelines for the conduct of the elections. Hon.
