ADHA MEMBER REACHES OUT TO 1000 FARMERS WITH #3MILLION HERBICIDES, SEEDLINGS


The Majority Leader and Member representing Jada Mbulo constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri has donated herbicides and seedlings to over 1000 farmers in his constituency.

The items worth #3 million were distributed to the Exco of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) at the Local Government and Ward levels, Admin Officers, Canvassers, Youth and Women groups and Elders across 6 wards which comprise Jada Mbulo constituency.

According to him, the high yield seedlings and chemicals distributed will enhance food production not only in Jada Mbulo but in the state.

Speaking while donating the items ward by ward during the week, the Majority Leader of the House said that he decided to donate the items so as to complement the effort of farmers in his constituency to improving agricultural activities.

Hon. Yettisuri stated that donating such items to his electorate at this time of new cropping season is the best thing to do as peoples' representative, explaining that the main stay of Jada Mbulo which form part of Ganye Chiefdom known as food basket is agriculture.

The Legislator told them that he decided to support them so as to cushion the effect of hardship caused by Covid-19 pandemic which affected the economy of the people across nations.

The Majority Leader asserted that the gesture will no doubt boost their production in the current farming season, thereby improving food supply for the people and contribute to the food security of the state.

He disclosed that he is also doing everything possible to provide them with fertilizer, saying that the Honourable Members of the House had 2 weeks ago met with the Commissioner Ministry of Agriculture, and that he assured them of government's effort to supplying the commodity to farmers.

He appealed to other political office holders in the area to come to the aid of the people, saying that he had discovered that some people need only a litre of  herbicides to boost their farming activities, and that such farmers should be encouraged to achieve their target.

Hon. Hamman tukur Yettisuri called on the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously for the purpose intended to enable them record bumper harvest for their benefit and that of the state at large.
