HON. KATE'S CTEE SCREENS 9 OUT OF 12 NOMINEES FOR BPP, FRC

Adamawa State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation has just screened 9 out of 12 nominees sent to the house by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for screening and possible confirmation.

The Committee headed by Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno(Demsa Constituency) has successfully screened 9 out of 12 nominated for appointment to head Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and Fiscal Responsibility Commission(FRC).

However, the Honourable Committee threatened to call on Governor Fintiri to replace 3 nominees if they fail to appear before the committee again for screening exercise at later date.

Those successfully screened for Bureau of Public Procurement include; Yakubu Ngale as Chairman, while Eng. Jingi Mallu, Barr. Husseina Maidawa, Adamu Ali Balami, Gambo Nduhyelya Job, Muktar Abdullahi and Danlami Babayo as members of the Bureau.

While, nominees for Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) that were screened and awaiting confirmation include, Barr. Lilian Steven Nabe and Saadatu Saad Abdullahi as members.

Those that failed to appear before the committee include; Iliyasu Buba Gashinbaki as member BPP, and Mohammad Bakari as Chairman as well as Alhaji Adamu Chagwa as member of FRC respectively.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the exercise on Monday, the Chairman of the Committee and Member representing Demsa constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, said her Committee had screened the majority of the nominees with the exception of 3 others.

Hon. Kate called on those that could not appear before her Committee to avail themselves with the opportunity whenever they are available, threatening to call for their replacement if they fail to show up for the exercise for second time.

According to her, the Committee members have seen the credentials and working experience of the nominees, and expressed confidence in them.

The Female Lawmaker told newsmen that the Governor had done well in nominating credible personalities.

She stated that the nominees had performed well in their previous offices and urged them to contribute their quoter towards moving the state forward if assumed offices.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the nominee for the office of the Chairman BPP, Barr. Yakubu Ngale, said that the Committee had done its job very well, saying if finally confirmed and sworn in, he will consolidate on what he will meet on the ground.

On her part, Barr. Lilian Stephen Nabe appreciated the House and the membership of the Committee, and promised to deploy her wealth of experience for the success of the commission.
