SONG, DUMNE ELECTORATE SMILE AS MEMBER SUPPORTS SECURITY, 1 OTHER WITH 3 VEHICLES


Hundreds of electorate in Song Local Government Area, Adamawa State have rolled out drums in celebrating the effort of the member representing Song constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Simon Isa for donating patrol vehicles to Hunters Association of Nigeria, Song LGA branch.

The electorate have expressed heartfelt appreciation to the member for donating 2 Toyota Isuzu to the Hunters Association of Nigeria, Song branch, and 406 Peugeot to Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Song.

According to the teeming electorate, the donation of the operational vehicles to security agents by Hon. Simon is the first of its kind in the history of the LGA more especially by sitting Member representing the constituency.

The event which took place in Song, the headquarters of Song LGA and Dumne on Friday, attracted critical stakeholders in the security sector as well as sons and daughters of the constituency, who applauded the lawmaker for his concern for the safety of his constituents.

Cross section of the stakeholders who spoke at the event said that the vehicles donated by the Member will go along way in complementing the effort of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration in tackling insecurity in the state.

Speaking while donating the vehicles to the Hunters and the Youth Leader, Hon. Simon Isa said that the issue of insecurity is everybody's business, hence his decision to come to the aid of his people by donating the vehicles to the Hunters.

Hon. Isa disclosed that despite the key role being played by the Vigilante, none of them is on the payroll of the government, adding that the Hunters encounter logistics challenges while responding to emergency situations, and the need to support them.

He stated that the present administration has accorded premium attention on the security sector, and stressed the need for complementary role so as to enable it succeed in drastically reducing the threats to barest minimum.

The Lawmaker further commended Governor Fintiri for embarking on the rehabilitation of Mararaba -Dumne road, pointing out that the Governor has done the Yungur land proud and wished him successful tenure.

Hon. Simon Isa pledged to continue in providing quality representation through the enactment of laws and resolutions that will cater for the well-being of his constituents, and urged the hunters to judiciously utilise the vehicles for the purpose intended.

Speaking earlier while at Song, the Vice Chairman PDP Song LGA, Eli Abbo said that they had several members in the past, but none could come to aid of the Hunters except Hon. Simon, and however gave him pass mark for striving hard to deliver on his campaign promises. 

Also speaking, a Director with National Orientation Agency( NOA), Gawirnan Agontara used the forum and cautioned the general public against Covid-19 pandemic, saying that the dreaded disease is real and that it kills.

Agontara told the gathering that the member has donated the vehicles in support of Governor Fintiri's effort in curtailing insecurity, saying that the kind gesture will go along way in ending insecurity in Song.

Baring his mind while in Dumne, the Administrator Dumne State Development Area, Godi Agelendan applauded the steps taken by the Member to supporting war against insecurity, saying that the vehicles will assist them a lot in emergency situations.

On his part, the National President Yungur Development Association (YADA), Kefas B. Magaji declared that logistics support to Vigilante is what they have been craving for, and that what Hon. Simon has done is a clear indication that there is success in the future.

Also speaking, a Dumne Youth, Yakubu Gera Aroma noted that things are beginning to change with the new government in place, and appreciated the Legislator for donating the vehicles, and the Vigilante for their selfless service to protecting lives and property of the citizens.

Responding after receiving the keys of vehicles, the Coordinator Local Hunters Association of Nigeria, Song LGA, Dogo Adamu expressed the appreciation of the association, and assured that the vehicles will be used in combating bad eggs in the society.
