APPOINTMENT: ADHA CONFIRMS CHAIRMEN, MEMBERS OF CSC, LGSC, PENSION BOARD


Lawmakers at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have just confirmed the appointment of Chairmen and Members of the State Pension Board, Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Local Government Service Commission.

The nominees confirmed were sent to the Honourable House by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, where he requested the hallowed chamber to screen and confirm their appointment to serve as Chairmen and Members of the organisations.

The nominees were screened over the weekend by the House Standing Committee on Public Petitions, Public Service and Electoral Matters headed by the Member representing Guyuk Constituency, Hon. Adwawa Donglock.

Those screened and confirmed today by the Honourable Members for State Civil Service Commission include; Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim(Chairman), Frederick B. Bilala, Bakari Betso, Umaru Garba Tola, Elkanah Lawan.

While those confirmed for State Pension Board include; Thomas Madi(Chairman), Salihu Kabillo, Solomon Obadiah, Mohammed I Attah and Salihu Mohammed to serve as member I, II, III and IV respectively.

In the same vein, the nominees screened by Hon. Committe and confirmed by the Committee of whole for Local Government Service Commission are; Piton P. Power as Chairman and Ibrahim Magaji, Sahabo Mahmud, Simon Sina Funguri, Ayuba Teri and Fibi Nuhu as members.

The confirmation followed the consideration of the report of the House Standing Committee on Public Petitions, Public Service and Electoral Matters, submitted at the resumed plenary session today by Hon. Adwawa Donglock(Guyuk).

After the confirmation, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, directed the clerk to the House to communicate the resolutions of the Members to Governor Fintiri for further action.

In his reaction shortly after the confirmation, the Member representing Guyuk constituency and Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Donglock appreciated the Speaker and the Honourable Members for confirming the appointment of the nominees.

Hon. Donglock who is also the Deputy Chief Whip of the House called on the nominees to be fair and just to all citizens whenever they assume their offices, saying that his committee had seen their credentials, and expressed optimism that they will succeed in taking their agencies to the greater height.

According to him, the agencies are very important to Adamawa citizens because they deal with appointment, promotion and recruitment or employment, and urged them to pilot the affairs of their offices with fear of God.

Hon. Adwawa Donglock applauded Governor Fintiri for considering all zones in the appointments, and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by giving equal opportunity to all citizens and wished them well in steering the affairs of their offices.
