HOUSE CMTE CONCLUDES SCREENING, LAUDS FINTIRI FOR NOMINATING CREDIBLE PEOPLE


House Standing Committee on Public Petition, Public Service and Electoral Matters of the Adamawa state House of Assembly has concluded its screening exercise of nominees as Chairmen and Members of the Statutory Commissions in the state.

The nominees were sent to the House of Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, where he requested the Honourable Members to screen and subsequently confirm them for appointment to serve in various capacities.

The agencies that appeared before the Committee for the exercise include; State Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission and State Pension Board, 

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the completion of the exercise at his committee level on Friday, the Chairman of the Committee and Member representing  Guyuk constituency, Hon. Adwawa Donglock, said that his committee had successfully completed its screening exercise of the nominees.

Hon. Donglock specifically commended Governor Fintiri for nominating people with proven integrity to head State Statutory Commissions, expressing optimism that the contributions of those nominated will aid in taking the state to the greater height.

He stated that the Governor had made a wise decision in nominating the caliber of people sent for confirmation, and expressed satisfaction with the competence of the nominees.

According to him, the screening was very tough, as the committee had screened the entire nominees of the Governor, explaining that all the nominees are knowledgeable and intelligent people who understand how government works based on their responses during the screening.


Baring his mind shortly after the screening exercise, one of nominee as Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Mr P. P Power, thanked the House and the Committee for following due process in their activities, and pledged to bring his wealth of experience into the service
