Adamawa State Police Command has vowed to fully enforce the 24 hour curfew imposed on some communities in Guyuk and Lamurde Local Government Areas by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Olugbenga Adeyanju cautioned the residents of Lafiya, Boshikiri, Zakawan, Masermei, Dumna Zerbu, Dumna Burthi, Dumba Dutse, Duu, Tsalbu communities in Lamurde and Guyuk to obey law and order in their interest.
The curfew followed a clash between Lungunda and Waja communities in some villages in Guyuk LGA which claimed lives and displaced several others; hence the imposition of the curfew to check the escalation of the clashes.
A statement by the Image Maker of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM Thursday, said that the Command in collaboration with sister agencies will commence full enforcement of the directives with immediate effect.
The statement added that the Command had deployed a taskforce team which comprises of police and other security agents to enforce the government's directives, warning officers and men deployed for the operation to display high level of professionalism by operating within the context of the law.
It assured the general public of its commitment to protecting their lives and property, and called on people to stop taking laws into their hands for peace and stability.
