RURAL ROAD NETWORK: ADAMAWA LEGISLATORS ENDORSE GONGOLA CONST FIRM


Impressed by the quality work executed by his construction company, the Lawmakers at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have endorsed Gongola Construction Company (G and G), saying that the company ranked the best in terms of rehabilitation/construction of rural roads in the state.

According to the Honourable Members, the quality job being executed by G and G, an indigenous construction company is far better than the ones being carried out by the so called foreign construction companies.

The Legislators however recommended that henceforth any construction project should be awarded to the company, so that it will continue to execute good job for the benefit of their electorate, insisting that the House has confidence in the company for quality services.

The Lawmakers have further called on the the State Government and Rural Access and Mobility Project(RAMPII) to patronise such a company, saying this will further boost the confidence of government in our local contractors, rather than foreign companies.

This is coming even as the House of Assembly has on Monday ordered Tec Construction Company to stop work on Konan Yaji- Mijiwana- Giltambara-Amdur road in Gombi Local Government Area due to substandard work on the 15.58 kilometer road.

So far the committee has visited Konan Yaji-Mijiwana- Giltambara- Amdur 25.58 km, Wuro Bokki-Uding -Pella 6.1 km, Hong- Mijili- Kuva Gaya 25.54 km handled by Tec Construction Company, and Ribawu Junction- Muchalla 6.09 km in Mubi North LGA and Mayo Gulli- Manjekin- Salma 10.9 km in Maiha LGA handled G and G Construction Company.

The Member of the House of Assembly Standing Committee on Rural Infrastructure and Community Development and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo (Numan) gave the endorsement during an inspection tour of the ongoing rural road projects across the state on Tuesday.

Hon. Mackondo who led other members of the committee including Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya(Mayo Belwa) and Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada(Michika) during the tour, said that the House Committee is satisfied with the quality of work so far done by G and G, describing the work as perfect.

He said that the Committee has inspected the roads, the sizes and the cells of the culverts and bridges and the entire work from the beginning to the end and found out to be perfect, and commended the company for a job well-done.

The Lawmaker urged the State Government and  Coordinator RAMP II in particular to award more contracts to the company so that people will continue to enjoy quality job.

In his remarks, a Stakeholder in Muchalla community, Stephen Kaki applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Members of the House of Assembly and RAMP II for coming to their aid, saying Muchalla community is satisfied with the work.

On his part, the representative of Salma Ward Head in Maiha, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim stated that many people could not believe that the project will become a reality due to failed promises in the past, explaining that their people are 100 percent satisfied with the work.

Also, fielding questions from newsmen, the Site Engineer G and G Construction Company, Mperiju Emmanuel said that they are impressed with the commendation, assuring of the company's readiness to executing any project awarded to it to taste of the World Bank, State Government and benefiting communities.
