MAN DEFILES 11 YR OLD GIRL 4 TIMES, GIVES HER N200 EACH IN ADAMAWA

Hassan Mohammed of National Supply in Yola North Local Government Area, Adamawa state, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly defiling an 11 year old girl(names withheld). Magistrate Japhet Ibrahim Basani, of the Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, Adamawa ordered for the remand of the 18 year old man after he admitted defiling the girl for about 4 times. Earlier, Hassan, confessed that he had defiled the little girl 4 times, and was giving her N200 only after every perfomance. He narrated that he first met the minor when she came to fetch water at National Supply, and succeded in luring her to a burnt down house where he defiled her. The prosecution had earlier informed the court that the mother of the girl reported to the police that the accused person had on 4 different occasions took her daughter to the building and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her. ADHA RECEIVES 5 PETITIONS...PROBES ALLEGED SALE OF JUDGES' HOUSE, BULLDOZER BY M/BELWA LGC BOSS

Adamawa state of Assembly has begun an investigation into an alleged illegal sale of an house meant for Area Court Judge by the Executive Chairman Mayo Belwa Local Government Council, Hon. Gershon Kasuwa. The Chairman was alleged to have illegaly sold the judges' house which had been in existence for over 40 years, a piece of land owned by clinic which is located at old market Mbilla ward, plots of land, a bulldozer, a tractor and roofing iron along M/Belwa Zing road belonging to the council. To investigate the allegations, the Assembly, presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, on Monday constituted a 7 member committee headed by the Chairman House Standing Committee on Works, Land and Survey, and Member representing Madagali constituency, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri, with a mandate to look into the issues and given 2 weeks to submit its findings. POLICE ARREST FAKE CORP MEMBER WITH FORGED CERTIFICATE IN ADAMAWA

Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command attached to the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) have arrested a man simply identified as, Dada Gbeniga Ayomilekan, for allegedly parading himself as Corp Member.   The Operatives also recovered forged HND certificate and fake Identity card among other documents from the suspect. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said in a release made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Tuesday, that the fake corp member was arrested during an intensive surveillance patrol by the operatives. DSP Nguroje, said the officers had while on the patrol to ensure safety and security in NYSC Orientation Camp in Girei Local Government Area, apprehended the man and recovered forged HND certificate, fake ID card, others from him. HOW 17 YR OLD GIRL ESCAPED BEING SLAUTHERED BY "SHILA" BOYS

A 17 year old girl, Suweba Musa, of bye pass in Yola South Local Government Area, Adamawa state would have been dead by now if not because of the timely intervention of a vigilante, Musa Abubakar. Suweba, narrowly escaped death by whiskers when 3 dreaded "Shila" boys, Jamilu Shuaibu (aka Bayinta), Abdulrazak Abubakar(aka Goska) and Baba (now at large) invaded their house and threatened to slaugther her by putting a knife on her neck. The teenager who cheated death was earlier sent on errand by her mother to buy clothes for her younger brother at a super market in Yola town by 7:00pm, on the 12th May, 2021. POLICE MOVE TO END FARMER/HERDER VIOLENCE DURING HARVEST, EXTEND CAMPAIGN TO HONG LGA

As farmers are preparing to commence harvesting of their farm produce, the Adamawa state police command has taken steps towards preventing annual clashes between farmers and herders in some parts of the state. To this end, the police command led by its CP, A.A Alhaji, on Friday engaged community and religious leaders, senior stakeholders, vigilantes, representatives of grazers and farmers in Hong Local Government Area on the need to embrace the existing peace and strive towards the curtailment of annual bloody clashes. The CP had during the stakeholder engagement, hammered on the need for herders and farmers to peacefully cohabit and avoid deliberate actions that stir up provocation which result to clashes.
