ADAMAWA CJ DECLINES TO SET FREE 35 CONVICTED "SHILA" BOYS

Adamawa Jail Delivery Committee has declined pardon for about 35 convicted members of the dreaded "Shila" boys serving various jail terms at a particular correctional centre (names withheld) in the state. The committee headed by the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, refused to discharge the convicted " shila" boys when the convicts appeared before it, insisting that they must serve their various prison terms as handed down by various courts. NEWS PLATFORM gathered from 14 correctional centres that the number of the convicted "Shila" boys is far more than the aforementioned, and that those convicted are currently serving their jail terms at the various centres. The presiding judge of Lunguda Area Court sitting in Guyuk Local Government, Adamawa state, Hon. Jerrison Fawe, has been removed from office. Hon. Fawe, has been shown way out for convicting and sentencing a man to 3 years in prison without fair hearing and without option of fine. The Adamawa state Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, removed the area court judge due to gross incompetence, and ordered him to report at the headquarters with immediate effect. Hon. Justice Nathan and Chairman Jail Delivery committee removed the judge when his committee stormed Guyuk correctional centre in continuation of prison decongestion on Thursday. GOMBI LGC CHAIR DISTRIBUTES MOTORCYCLES, INSPECTS PROJECTS AFTER 21 DAYS IN OFFICE

Barely 21 days of assumption of office, the Chairman Transition Committee of Gombi Local Government Council, Hon. Abdulrahaman Dauda Shanga, has distributed 12 brand new motorcycles to the PDP wards Chairmen of the LGA. 62 OUT OF 234 PRISONERS SET FREE IN NUMAN, SHELLENG LGAs

The Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee has freed 62 out of 234 inmates at Numan and Shelleng correctional centres respectively. The committee headed by the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, set free 57 out of 203 inmates at Numan correctional centre,  released 5 out of 31 inmates at Shelleng correctional centre and reviewed 7 cases. While addressing the discharged inmates, Hon.Nathan, appealed to them to engage themselves in a lawful activities, saying that they will not temper justice with mercy again if any one of them is re-arrested and brought back to the centre for one offence or the other. Over 70 Women Leaders of the Peoples Democratic (PDP), Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone have thrown their weight behind the senatorial ambition of Barr. D. D. ADAMAWA CJ STORMS MUBI, MAIHA PRISONS, DISCHARGES 6 WOMEN, 25 OTHERS

In continuation of prison decongestion in Adamawa State, the Jail Delivery Committee headed by Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, has stormed Mubi and Maiha prisons respectively and set free 31 inmates including 6 women. During its assignment in Mubi correctional centre on Monday, the Hon. committee discharged 25 inmates including 5 women, summarily convicted 6, granted bail to 1 and reviewed 6 sentences downward. Hon. Justice Nathan's Committee was also at Maiha correctional centre where it met 37 inmates at the correctional centre and released 6 men and a woman. This brings total number of 240 inmates so far discharged at the Jimeta, Yola town, Mubi and Maiha Custodial Centres of the Nigerian Correctional Service since the committee has embarked on its assignment last week.
