The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has charged the newly constituted Special and Standing Committees to work hard in order to deliver on their mandate. Rt. Hon. Bathiya gave the charge while inaugurating the Special and House Standing Committees at the assembly committee room on Tuesday. He tasked them to work hard in order to deliver on your mandate as Chairmen and Committee members, saying that the committees play a significant role in the process of lawmaking as bills and resolutions are referred to them for scrutiny. He appealed them to create a synergy between their committees and relevant ministries, departments and agencies as they oversight on their activities for the progress of the state. SEN. IYA ABBAS URGES TRIBUNAL TO DISMISS NYAKOS' PETITION AGAINST HIM

The Senator Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas has urged the National Assembly Petitions Tribunal to dismiss petition filed against him by erstwhile Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako. News Platform  Senator Iya Abbas, asked the tribunal to dismiss the suit instituted against him while adopting his final written address on Monday at the resumed sitting of the tribunal in Yola. The petitioner and the former Sen. Abdul-Aziz Nyako of the APC sued Iya Abbas who clinched the senatorial ticket under the platform of the PDP. Already, the three man tribunal has reserved the judgement in suit, and said that the date will be communicated to the parties involved in the matter. ADHA SEEKS URGENT SUPPORT FOR VICTIMS OF FLOODING IN 7 LGAS

Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday urged the State Emergency Management Agency(ADSEMA) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) respectively to provide relief materials to the communities affected by flooding. The assembly presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, urged the agencies to provide relief materials to the victims of recent flooding particularly in Lamurde and Fufure as well as Yola South, Yola North, Girei, Demsa and Numan LGAs. The assembly's resolution was sequel to a matter of public importance sponsored by the member representing Lamurde constituency, Hon. Bauna Myandasa. Earlier, Hon. The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state on Friday, adjourned for judgment, a petition filed by the Rev. Amos Kumai Yohanna, challenging the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo Cliff. The Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice Aloysius O. Okuma, reserved the judgment for a later day to be communicated to parties after the petitioner and respondents had adopted their final written addresses. Rev. Amos Yohanna, who contested election under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), dragged the incumbent Sen. (Response to Ahmad Sajoh' s piece)  Ahmad Sajoh in an attempt to derail the gullible and to also sustain their followership on false hope wrote an article where he mentioned in part that  "Talking about what happened must begin from the evaluation of the matter before the judges. Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani has gone to the tribunal to challenge the declaration of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as Governor on grounds that  such declaration does not meet the minimum legal requirements as prescribed in the electoral act and guidelines of the electoral umpire...
