3 "SHILA" BOYS NABBED FOR ATTACKING CHT MUBI FEMALE STUDENT

Three suspected "Shila" boys are currently being interrogated by the operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command for attacking a lady and confiscating her handset. The suspect include Mutari Ali, 21, Mubi South LGA, Suleiman Iliya, 23, Wuro Patuji, Ibrahim Abubakar, 25, Lokuwa, attacked and snatched handset belonging to Holy Ishaku, student of the College of Health Technology Mubi. According to the Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurore, said that the accused were arrested on the 4th May, 2024. He assured that the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of investigation by the operatives of the command.

ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND TRAINS OFFICERS ON CRIME PREVENTION, CONDUCT

As part of efforts to enhance its capacity to deliver policing services more efficiently, the Adamawa State Police Command has conducted general training for its personnel from various divisions and formations in the state. According to the Spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the training was aimed at equipping officers on crime prevention ss well as professional conduct which discharging their official responsibilities. "The purpose of it is to equip the officers with knowledge and skills on crime prevention strategy and Standard Operational procedures (SOP) and how to swiftly respond to Distress calls in case of emergency", said SP Nguroje. The exercise was conducted at various Area Commands on  Police General Duties, Ethics of Policing, Inter-Agency Collaboration, Police and the public. REP LAORI SPLASHES CASH, TRAINING KITS ON FOOTBALL CLUBS

Kwamoti La'ori, has donated cash as well as football and jerseys to football clubs in Kwah community in his constituency. Hon. Laori who was represented by his Aide, Dr.A J Dennis, donated football, jerseys and cash to encourage youth sports development and promote unity in Kwah.  Impressed by the love, peace and unity among youth, demonstrated during his visit to commission a block of 3 classrooms in Kwah, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti promised to support youth clubs and football teams in the area.  A week after, the promise was fulfilled, donations were made in the presence of Hama Kwah Chief Nickson Tamuna, the Chairman, Kwah Community Devt. Association Mr. Pharon Agodi, among other stakeholders. MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING HIS NIECE IN ADAMAWA

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Abdu Hamidu, accused of sexually assaulting his niece. Abdu, 25-years old and hails from Kwakwa in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State allegedly assaulted his nine-year-old Niece after luring her into his room. A statement by the Command's Spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspect was arrested on the 4th May, 2024. SP Nguroje said thst the arrest followed the complaint lodged to Police at Kala'a Division by the Father of the victim who happens to be a brother to the suspect. He said investigation had revealed that the suspect lured the victim into his room, away from the eyes of people and had canal knowledge with her, assuring that the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

42 PEOPLE KILLED BY MEASLES IN 2 ADAMAWA LGAs

No fewer than 42 people have been killed following the outbreak of measles which ravaged Mubi and Gombi Local Government Areas respectively in Adamawa state.  The Hon. Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tangwami made this known whil briefing in Yola, Adamawa State. He said that the disease ravaged 8 wards in Mubi and 7 wards in Gombi LGAs which resulted to the death toll of 42 out of 131 and 177 affected.

MAN NABBED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 1-YR OLD STEPDAUGHTER

The Adamawa State Command has arrested a 30 years old man for allegedly assaulting his step daughter sexually.   A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurore, said that the suspect was arrested on the 1st May, 2024.  He said that the command arrested one Idi Adamu, a 30-year-old resident of Wuro Ardo in Mubi North Local Government, for sexuality assaulting his one-year-old step daughter. SP Ngurore added that the arrest followed a complaint lodged to police by the Mother of the victim who happens to be the wife to the accused.

ADAMAWA: MAN HITS FRIEND WITH A HOE ON THE HEAD TO DEATH

A middle age man, Gambo Shimyangei, has been arraigned before Adamawa State High Court of Justice over alleged culpable homicide. The defendant who hails from Shafan community in Lamurde LGA, Adamawa State was arraigned before Hon. Justice Ishaku Haliru Yakubu, for the alleged offence preferred against him. Gambo is facing trial for the aforementioned offence which contravenes section 192 (a) of the Penal Code law 2018. The defendant allegedly caused the death of Kpeshi Hananiah by hitting him with a hoe on his head with the intention of causing his death. The victim engaged the defendant in wrestling on the 14th June, 2023 which the defendant refused and became aggressive. Provoked by the victim' s action, the defendant decided to report the matter to his father and while on his way to report the matter, he sighted a hoe and picked it up.
