The Majority Leader and Member representing Jada Mbulo constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri has declared that the 2020 proposed budget estimates as presented by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, touches every aspects of human endeavour.
Hon. Yettisuri who was speaking to newsmen shortly after the presentation of the budget by Governor Fintiri on Tuesday, said that the proposed budget estimates actually reflected the basic needs of the citizens in the state.
The Governor has presented the whopping #183.3 billion as proposed budget estimates for the year 2020 to the state Assembly for consideration and possible passage.
But speaking to newsmen, the Majority Leader of the House said that this year's appropriation bill touches every aspects human endeavour and added that it is something that can be actualised.
The Lawmaker explained that the budget has reflected the manifestoes of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) :health, education, road networks, agriculture and other critical sectors.
He stated that they went round canvassing for votes with a promised of providing dividends of democracy and that in the course of preparing the budget, they must take into cognisance some of the campaign promises to avoid embarking on the execution of projects that do not have direct bearing on the lives of the electorates.
He advised the government to go extra mile by looking inward with a view to diversifying sources of Internally Generated Revenue in oder to finance the budget.
The Majority Leader disclosed that budget presentation by either the Federal or State Government is a constitutional requirement where the affected Chief Executive Officers project their expenditures for the fiscal year.
He said that it is spelt out in section 1 sub section 1,2 and 3 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, and pledged the readiness of the house to according the appropriation bill accelerated consideration.
