HON. KATE IS ONE OF THE BEST LEGISLATOR IN THE HOUSE SAYS ADHA SPEAKER

Impressed by her outstanding performance in law making business, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has described the member representing Demsa constituency in the house, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, as one of the best lawmaker of the 7th Assembly.

The Honourable Speaker insisted that the only female lawmaker of the house is one of the vibrant and supportive Honourable member the hallowed chamber is lucky to produced.

Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas stated this while receiving a delegation from Adamawa Women in Politics led by its President and member representing Demsa, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently.

He intimated the women that their President who is also the Chairman House Standing Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation, is one of the movers and shakers that the house.

The Speaker further appreciated the women for their visit and support to their only female colleague to enable her steer the ship of the organisation as well as continue in providing quality representation.

Earlier, speaking while leading other women of the organisation, the President Adamawa Women in Politics, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, who spoke through the Secretary of the organisation, Comfort Ibrahim Ezra made a passionate appeal on the present administration to consider appointing more women into sensitive political offices.

The President decried the under representation of women at all levels of governance and decision making in Adamawa, soliciting for support and recognition most especially by the 7th Assembly.

According to her, the recognition of the untapped capacity and talents of women and women's leadership role has led to the goal of the group which is to bring female politicians together and work towards increasing women participation and representation in politics.

She told the speaker that her organisation has been in existence for 5 years as a group of women politicians in the state irrespective of differences in political parties. explaining that its noble objectives is to encourage more female participation in Politics.

Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno posited that a gender balanced government may be an important step for the attainment of the needed development, adding that this will go along way in encouraging women to offer their full support in subsequent elections in the state.

  1. #ADAWiP and the Hon. should be giving the opportunity to encourage more women participation and representation in our polity. Women have been known to implement better policies with their managerial skills. Kwara state has more female representation in the Nigerian political space with over 56% women gender affirmative action. Adamawa can do same and even better still beat the existing record
