BUSTED: HOW BINDOW EMPLOYED 3,380 OUT 7,599 PERSONS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS

The Committee on Regularization of Appointments and Transfer of Service in the State Civil Service has revealed that the former Governor, Muhammad Umar Jibrilla, employed 3,380 workers into the state civil service without due process.

According to the committee, the immediate adminstration employed the total number of 7,599 and that out of the number, 3,380 were recruited without following due process.

The Chairman of the Committee who is also the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Mr Emmanuel Ibrahim made this known while submitting the Final Report of the findings of the committee to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at Conference Hall, in Government House Yola, yesterday.

The Perm Sec told the Governor that the total of 4,219 persons were employed based on due process and recommended that they should be sustained in  the interest of the state civil service.

According to him, the remaining 3,380 persons were not properly recruited, explaining that the recruitment agencies have compromised their responsibilities and further advised the government to review the exercise.

He stated that his committee found out that due process was not considered in the issuance of waivers for the recruitment and lamented a situation whereby 3rd Class Graduates were employed to lecture at the  State Polytechnic (SPY), Yola.

Responding while receiving the report, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commended the members of the committee for their steadfastness and patriotism exhibited in carrying out the assignment successfully without fear or favour.

 Governor Fintiri assured the committee that very soon he will constitute a committee that will come up with a white paper for the review of the recommendations of the committee towards full implementation.
