ADSIEC CLEARS 51 CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATES FOR DEC 7TH LGC POLLS
Ahead of December 7th Local Government Councils Elections in Adamawa state, the State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has cleared 51 Chairmanship Candidates fielded by 6 political parties for the race in the state.
Recall that the state electoral body has fixed 7th December for the conduct of the Local Government Councils Elections across the 21 LGAs in the state.
In all, 14 political parties are expected to slug it out during the polls, but only 6 parties including Action Alliance(AA), African Democratic Congress(ADC), All Progressive Congress(APC), Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Social Democratic Party(SDP) and Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD) have Chairmanship candidates.
While All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), Alliance for Social Democrat(ASD), Kowa Party, Young Progressiveness Party(YPP), Peoples Redemption Party(PRP) Allied Progressives Movement (APM) and other 6 aforementioned political parties fielded Councillorship Candidates.
According to the result of screening exercise released by ADSIEC, 51 out of 51 Chairmanship Candidates fielded by 6 political parties have been cleared and expected to participate during the forthcoming elections.
For Chairmanship, the political parties and LGAs where it fielded candidates include; action Alliance (Mubi North), ADC (Ganye, Gombi, Numan, Shelleng and Yola North) SDP (Numan and Guyuk) MRDD (Hong), while APC and PDP fielded 21 Candidates each.
