ADHA SPEAKER COMMMISSIONS JERENG BOREHOLES 10 YEARS AFTER BRAKE DOWN


As part of effort towards providing quality representation to his constituents, the member representing Nassarawo Binyeri constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Nashion Gubi, has repaired 2 motorised boreholes which broke down more 10 years ago.

The boreholes according to the residents of Nassarawo Jereng, the headquarters of Nassarawo Binyeri constituency in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, broke down many years ago and could not be repaired, until the intervention of the member who is barely 6 months in office.

But speaking while commissioning the boreholes yesterday, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, commended the member for his effort in rehabilitating the boreholes.

The Speaker said that Hon. Nashion is now the first Honourable Member to embark on the execution of constituency project, and urged him not to relent in providing more dividends of democracy to his constituents.

He told the gathering that he came to felicitate with them for the good thing that their representative has done for them, and pledged to facilitate the posting of permanent staff of water board to man the boreholes.

While at the palace of the District Head of Bajama, Alh. Dr. Hamman Adama Bello, the Presiding Officer of House, said that the agenda of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led administration is to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens.

He told the royal father that they came to power so as to improve the living standard of their electorates and not to make money; hence the introduction of people oriented policies and programmes on education and other critical sectors, saying plans are underway towards resuscitating health care delivery system in the state.

Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, urged them to live in peace and harmony for the progress of the state, calling on them to continue in supporting the government of the day to enable it provide good governance to the entire citizens.

Speaking earlier, the Member representing Nassarawo Binyeri constituency, Hon. Umar Nashion Gubi, said he decided to repair the boreholes so as to address the plight of his constituents in terms of portable water supply, and pleaded with them to handle the boreholes with care so as to benefit maximally from it.

Hon. Nashion, said his next line of action is to empower youth and women to make them become self reliant in the society, pledging his commitment to providing quality representation at the House before the end of his tenure.

In his vote of thanks, the District Head of Bajama, Alh. Dr. Hamman Adama Bello, appreciated the member for rehabilitating the broken down boreholes, and admonished him not to relent in providing good governance to his people.

The royal father thanked the speaker and other Honourable members who graced the occasion, and pledged their unflinching support to the government of the day.

The Speaker was accompanied by Hon. Hamidu Sajoh Lekki(Yola North), Hon. Bathiya Wesley (Hong), Hon. Ibrahim Italiya(Mayo Belwa), Hon. Umar Musa Bororo(Mubi south), former Commissioner, Hon. Adiel Kurda and other stakeholders.
