Following recent armed robbery attacks which claimed 2 lives and several others injured along Numan - Jalingo road, the Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Numan constituency, Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo, has called for proactive measures to check the activities of the men of the underworld on the road by the police.
The Deputy Speaker in a statement made available to newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, however condemned the frequent attacks by armed bandits near Dowaya, along the road.
It was learnt that the armed robbers had last week barricaded the road and robbed businessmen who were returning from a local market, killing two people while injuring several others on the spot.
It was further gathered that the hoodlums had again yesterday night barricaded the road and shot 7 people who are now receiving medical attention at a health facility in Numan Local Government Area in the state.
But the Deputy Speaker in the statement, vehemently condemned the frequent attacks on his innocent constituents, and called on the security agencies most especially the Nigeria police to take necessary action towards curtailing the security threats most especially on the road.
Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo, however sympathized with the victims of the incidents, and pledged his resolved to continue in impressing the security agencies towards ensuring the protection of lives and property in and around his constituency and the state in general.
