Deputy Speaker Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo has congratulated the speaker and other members of the state Assembly for emerging victorious at the Court of Appeal in Yola yesterday.
The court had in its separate judgements, upheld the elections of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas(Uba Gaya), Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya(Mayo Belwa) and Hon. Myandassa Bauna(Lamurde).
Likewise, the court had further invalidated the verdict of the Election Petition Tribunal in respect of Hon. Shuaibu Dan Musa(Mubi North) and Hon. Umar Musa Bororo(Mubi South) respectively.
In his congratulatory message which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM in Yola today, Hon. Mackondo heartily celebrated with his colleagues over the verdict which according to him, has reaffirmed their victory at the March 2019 polls.
The Legislator said by the judgement, the court has put indelible judicial seal to lawmakers' victory during the elections, and added that the judiciary has reaffirmed the will of the people of Uba Gaya, Mayo Belwa, Lamurde, Mubi North and Mubi South constituencies.
He appealed to all the parties involved in the legal battle to wholeheartedly accept the court's verdict and join his Honourable Colleagues and the House of Assembly as a whole in building a prosperous Adamawa.
Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo stated that the House of Assembly under the headship of Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas would continue to produce good legislation and pursue harmonious relationship between the organs of government and amongst Adamawa citizens for unity, peace and progress.
