A Concern Citizen in Uba District, Hong Local Government Area Adamawa state, Mohammed Abubakar Aliyu has petitioned the state House of Assembly over illegal sales of public property by the District Head of Uba, Ardo Umar Yahya Njidda.
The District Head was said to have illegally sold the house of a Headmaster in Uba on the 13th March, 2017 without the knowledge of the Local Government Education Authority and squandered the money.
Also, the royal father was alleged to have disposed the house of Late Bobboi Dogari which belonged to the beneficiaries and that efforts to recover the property proved abortive.
According to the Concern Citizen, the District Head does not stay in his domain so as to attend to the needs of his subjects, and appealed to the house to investigate the allegations and take proper action against what he described as unethical and unwholesome behaviour of the royal father.
The petition dated 20th November, 2019 was copied to the Executive Governor of the state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Lamido of Adamawa, Commissioner of Police in the state, Ministries of Education and Chieftaincy Affairs respectively.
However, the copy of the petition which was obtained by NEWS PLATFORM has since been presented at the resumed plenary session today by the Chairman House Standing Committee on Petitions Hon. Shuaibu Babas(Fufore Gurin).
But the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the sitting referred the petition to House Committees on Petitions, Local Government Affairs and Education to investigate the allegations and report back within 2 weeks.
