Palpable tension has engulfed some members of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, families members and supporters ahead of tomorrow's judgement expected to be delivered by the Court of Appeal sitting in Yola.
The court has fixed Friday for the determination of 6 election cases instituted by some sitting members of the House, candidates of political parties and the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
According to NEWS PLATFORM, 2 applications were filed by Hon. Musa Umar Bororo(APC) Mubi South and Hon. Shuaibu Dan Musa(APC) Mubi North that were recently removed by the Election Petition Tribunal over allegations of certificate forgery.
The embattled members were earlier dragged to the Tribunal by Hon. Yakubu Musa Dirbishi(PDP) and Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Sudi(PDP), and asked the court to sack them which the court did.
While the other 3 appeals were filed by the ex-Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Mohammed Atiku Hayatu(APC) against the current Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas(PDP) Uba Gaya, Hon. Vrati Nzonzo (APC) and Hon. Peter Da'ape(PDP) against Hon. Myandassa Bauna(PDP) and Ibrahim Musa Italiya(ADC), members representing Lamurde and Mayo Belwa at the House respectively.
One other appeal was instituted by the Independent National Electorl Commission (INEC) against the decision of the Tribunal for showing Hon. Bororo, a friend to erstwhile Governor Bindow, the way out of the hallowed chamber.
Hon. Hayatu, Vrati and Da'ape, were floored at the Tribunal as the court described as lacking in merit and grossly incompetent, the petitions they brought before it.
The appellants gathered momentum after huge defeat and headed to the Appeal Court and prayed it to review the decision of the lower court against the mandates of their electorates.
But as soon as the news for tomorrow's verdict by the court broke, tension suddenly gripped the parties involved most especially the sitting members and some of the candidates as to whether tomorrow will mark the end of their representation at the house or their struggle.
In fact, the members have every reason to be jittery because tomorrow' verdict is going to be the final nail on the coffin, as there will be no more room for them continue with their legal battle. This is because Appeal Court is their last bus stop.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that most of the families and teeming supporters of the parties have resorted to fasting and prayers for divine intervention as they await the kind of fate that will befall their bosses.
On their part, some of candidates who engaged the lawmakers in the legal tussle have stated counting the huge resources they expended most especially on hiring legal practitioners that have been defended their cases...
