Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly have just commenced the screening of 23 commissioner nominees as forwarded to them by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, about 2 weeks ago.
The House of Assembly had last week fixed today for the commencement of the screening exercise of the nominees to serve as members of the cabinet in the state.
Recall that Governor Fintiri, had two weeks ago forwarded the names of the nominees and requested the Honourable Members to screen and possibly confirm them in line with the 1999, Constitution as amended.
Those nominated for the appointment include; Mohammed Umaru( Madagali), Elijah Rumba and Dr. Ishaya John Dabari( Michika), Barr. Sunday Mathew(Mubi North), Prof. Isa Abdullahi (Mubi South), Hassan Kaigama( Maiha), Dr. Umaru Garba Ph.D, Lami Patrict (Gombi, Abdullahi Prambe( Song), Usman Yahaya Diyajo (Girei), Umaru Iya Daware(Fufore), Ibrahim Mijinyawa(Yola North).
Others are; Mustapha Musa Jika( Yola South), Sanusi Faruk(Toungo), Bappa Dalhatu Is a( Ganye), Aloysius Babadoke and Adamu Atiku( Jada), Shuaibu Audu(Mayo Belwa), Iliya James( Demsa), Dr. Dishi Khobe, PhD( Numan), Justina Nkom(Lamurde), Wulbina Jackson ( Guyuk),Adamu Titus(Shelleng).
The request of the Governor as contained in a letter which was read at the resumed plenary session presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, was unanimously adopted and slated for screening and confirmation.
Thereafter, the Speaker, directed the Clerk of the House, to invite the nominees to submit their curriculum vitae last week and appear before the honourable house on Monday (today) and Tuesday(tomorrow) for screening exercise.
The first batch of the nominees and their supporters have started trooping the premises of the house for the exercise.
Already, the house presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has started screening the nominees as forwarded by the Governor.
