NSCDC: SPEAKER ADHA DECORATES SECURITY AID WITH NEW ASC RANK

Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has today decorated one of his security aids, ASC Zubairu Ahmed Jika, with his new rank as Assistant Superintendent of Corpse 2 (ASC2) Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corpse(NSCDC). ASC Zubairu Jika, was one of the beneficiaries of the recent promotions carried out by the NSCDC, where he he was promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Corpse 1 (ASC1) to Assistant Superintendent of Corpse 2 (ASC2). The Presiding Officer of the House was assisted during the decoration by the Commandant NSCDC in the state, Abdullahi Nurudeen, who was represented by the Assistant Commandant and Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Suleiman Baba. LAMURDE CLERGIES FELICITATE WITH HON. BAUNA, PRAY FOR SUCCESSFUL TENURE

Pastors of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) in Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa State have felicitated with the Member representing Lamurde constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. ADAMAWA ASSEMBLY TAKES STEPS AGAINST RAPISTS

Legislators at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have taken steps aimed at providing a legal framework geared towards checkmating the spate of rape in the state. The steps taken by the Honourable Members followed the presentation of a letter forwarded to the House by Adamawa Coalition Against Rape under the auspices of the Centre for Women and Adolescent Empowerment in the state. It could be recalled that the coalition led by  its Convener, Haj. Asma'u Joda, had yesterday protested against rape within the state capital where it also sought for justice for the victims of rape. The coalition comprises of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Human Right Groups, Women Groups and Associations, Faith Based Organisations, Women and Media. NOA PARTNERS ADHA FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF RULES ON NATIONAL SYMBOLS

Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly,Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has expressed the willingness of the 7th Assembly to enter into partnership with the National Orientation Agency(NOA) in the state for the enforcement of rules on national symbols. Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, stated this while receiving the State Director NOA, Alh Ahmed Sudi Abba, who led other principal officers of the agency on a courtesy visit on the Speaker and other Honourable Members of the House yesterday. He told the delegation that the hallowed chamber is willing to close ranks with the agency for the enforcement of rules on national symbols such as national anthem, national pledge, hoisting of Nigerian flag, national passport, national identity card, code of arm, badges, respect for currency among others. TRIBUNAL KNOCKS OUT KEFAS CALVIN, AFFIRMS UMAR NYAKO

Member representing Toungo constituency at the Adamawa State Houseb of Assembly under the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon. Abdullahi Umar Nyako, has finally nailed  the coffin of his Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) opponent, Hon. Kefas Calvin, as the Election Petition Tribunal has today ratified his election as winner of the  House of Assembly seat representing Toungo. The Tribunal sitting in Yola had while delivering judgement on a petition filed by the embattled PDP candidate, said the suit against Hon. Nyako, lacked merits and cannot stand any lawful justification. Hon. Kefas, told the court that the election of Hon. ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL TRASHES SUIT AGAINST ALHASSAN, JAPHETH

The Election Petition Tribunal holden at Yola, the Adamawa State capital has today, struck out  petitions against Members representing Ganye and Gombi constituencies at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Alhassan Hammanjoda and Hon.Japheth Kefas respectively. The petitions were earlier filed at the court by the candidates of the People Democratic Party(PDP) and that of African Democratic Congress(ADC)Jibrin Usman Yelwa(Ganye) and Hon. Rufai Umar (Gombi). The petitioners had approached the court over irregularities alleged to have marred the the election of the incumbent members held in March this year. According to them, the elections were heavily characterised by irregularities ranging from alteration of result sheets, over voting, vote buying, lack of accreditation of the voters and none usage of card reader among other allegations. HASCO: ADAMAWA ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS THE APPOINTMENT OF EX- SPEAKER, OTHERS

Adamawa State House of Assembly has today confirmed the appointment of Former Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Wambai as  Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission(HASCO). Others confirmed as members of the commission include; Mr. Bello Pur, Hon. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, Barr. Zainab Ngila Ahmed and Hon. Mohammed Shehu. The confirmation of the nominees by the hallowed chamber was sequel to the adoption of a report of the House Joint Committee on Public Service and Electoral Matters and House Services at a resumed plenary session yestarday. The report was presented to the House by the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Public Service and Electoral Matters and Member representing Guyuk constituency, Hon Adwawa Donglock.
