NUJ/POLICE CRISIS: RATTAWU THUMBS UP FINTIRI, WARNS AGAINST FURTHER INTRUSION
Moved by the recent invasion of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Adamawa State Council's Secretariat by the officers of the State Police Command, the Leadership of Radio, Television, Theater and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) has vehemently condemned the invasion and unwarranted assault meted on the chairman of the union by the police. The Leadership of RATTAWU which comprises of Adamawa Television Corperation (ATV) and Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), threatened to shut down their media organisations should what they described as uncivilised and barbaric act is repeated on the noble union. However, the exco gave kudos to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his timely intervention, insisting that it was his intervention that averted a full blown war between Adamawa Journalists and the Police Command.
