ADAMAWA TEKAN ECWA BLOC GETS NEW LEADERSHIP

Adamawa State TEKAN ECWA Bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria has inaugurated its newly elected officials that will pilot the affairs of the body in the next 3 years. Those elected and inaugurated include; Rev. Gambo Bupwatda as Chairman, while Dean Rev. Gideon Ishaku and Elder James Irmiya are to serve as Vice Chairman and Secretary of the bloc respectively. Other Exco include; Elder Emmanuel Anyoga, Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Dancha Malgwi, Financial Secretary and Elder Dimas Gumbwaram, as Treasurer.  Others are; Evangelist Haruna Donge, Public Relation Officer (PRO) I, Evangelist Kefas Nuhu, PRO II, Rev Mathias Ballasa, Auditor. INVESTIGATIVE PANEL: ADHA MP THANKS FINTIRI, PREACHES PEACE IN GUYUK

Impressed by the constitution of the Special Administrative Panel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the recent communal clashes in Guyuk Local Government Area in Adamawa state, the Member represented Guyuk constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Adwawa Donglock has thanked the state government for setting up the panel. Equally, the state Legislator has called on the troubled communities in Guyuk and Lamurde LGAs respectively to embrace peace, saying no meaningful development is ever recorded in a chaotic atmosphere. ADHA MOVES TO RESCUE COLLEGE OF AGRIC GANYE, ADOPTS 3 LIFE SAVING RESOLUTIONS

Aminu Iya Abbas, Speaker ADHA In its move to address the plight of the only state owned College of Agriculture, the Adamawa state House of Assembly has today enacted about 3 life saving resolutions to rescue the College of Agriculture Ganye.  The Honourable Members have unanimously resolved and appealed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration to urgently intervene towards ensuring the accreditation of the 10 Courses /Programmes being undertaking by the College. According to the Lawmakers, without the accreditation of some of the Courses by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the College cannot get any grant from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND). Equally, the Legislators urged on the State Government to provide infrastructure needed by the institution as well as help and develop the permanent site of the school so as to compete favourably with other institutions. FINTIRI SETS UP 7 MAN SPECIAL PANEL TO INVESTIGATE LUNGUDA/WAJA CRISIS

Governor Ahmadu Umaru of Adamawa state has today constituted a 7 Man Special Administrative Panel to investigate the recent clashes between Lunguda and Waja communities in Guyuk Local Government Area. The Special Panel is to be headed by General Harris Dzarma(rtd), with Archbishop (Dr) Musa Panti Filibus (President Lutheran World Federation), Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza, Alhaji Gambo Jika, Imam Bappare Kem and Pastor Emmanuel Kwagherga as members, while the Permanent Secretary Security, Polycarp Ayuba is to serve as Secretary of the panel. A statement by the Director Media and Communications, Mr Solomon Kumangar and made available to NEWS PLATFORM today, said that the panel is charged with the responsibility of investigating circumstances surrounding crisis between Lunguda and Waja communities in Dumna District and  Guyuk LGA at large.

However, the Command has urged appliants to forward their applications more especially from citizens for enlistment into the Force as Police Constables (Recruits). Daji Sani, Chairman Correspondents' Chapel, Yola Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Adamawa State chapter has inaugurated new Executive Council for the Correspondents' Chapel, Yola. Those inaugurated include; Daji Sani (ThisDay Newspaper) as Chairman, Husseini Hammangabdo (Leadership Newspaper) Vice Chairman, Onimisi Alao (The Nation Newspaper) as Secretary. COVID-19: ADAMAWA GOVT ALIGNS WITH FG...REVERSES RESUMPTION OF SCHOOLS

To strictly align itself with the decision of the Federal Government towards the resumption of schools, the Adamawa State Government has today reversed its earlier decision for the resumption of schools across the state. The State Government had fixed 4th August, 2020 as the resumption date for Primary Six pupils as well as students in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and those in Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) expected to write their terminal examinations. The decision by the government to continue to allow schools to remain closed followed the recommendations of the Federal Ministry of Education that opening of schools will expose students to the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
