ADHA C'TTEE ON HEALTH TO CONVENE STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON 2 BILLS TODAY
As part of effort towards enacting people oriented legislations, the Adamawa State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Health and Human Services is convening stakeholders meeting on 2 bills later today.
According to the Chairman of the Committee and member representing Yola North constituency, Hon. Hamidu Sajoh Lekki, the meeting is aimed at bringing critical stakeholders in health sector in the state with a view to deliberating on the bills before their passage.
The bills for consideration by the stakeholders include: " Bill for a Law to amend Adamawa State Health Insurance Scheme Law No. 7 of 2011, to Provide for Free Health Care Services to Disabled and Unemployed " and a " Bill for a Law Regulate the Minimum Standard for Health Care Facilities and for related matters ".
The meeting which will be chaired by the Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Lekki, will be held at the Committee Room later today, and appealed to those concerned to come up with their submissions for consideration.
Recall that the House of Assembly during its plenary session on 9th October, 2019, which was presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, read the bills for the second time and committed same to the Committee for scrutiny.
Thereafter, the Committee Members met and unanimously resolved to request for written inputs from relevant stakeholders so as to make the bills more people oriented.
