SUSPENSION: A'M READY TO FACE ADHA PANEL OF INVESTIGATION, SAYS NUMAN LGC CHAIR



Embattled Transition Committee Chairman of Numan Local Government Council in Adamawa State, Hon. Nathaniel Tyakul, says he is ready to face Committees constituted by the State House of Assembly to probe allegations levelled against him by his Councillors.

The Chairman posited that there is no cause for alarm on the Assembly's recommendations for his suspension by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Assembly during yesterday's plenary session adopted recommendations for the suspension of the Chairman by the Governor for 2 weeks pending the outcome of investigations that will be carried out by the House.

The Hallowed Chamber presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, had asked the Governor to axe the LGC boss over alleged violation of operational guidelines handed over by the Governor, as filed in a petition by the Councillors.

Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, further directed House Standing Committees on Public Petition, Public Accounts and LG Affairs to investigate the allegations levelled against the Chairman by 10 Legislative Councillors.

But the Chairman had while reacting on the issue to NEWS PLATFORM, in Yola, said that there is nothing to fear on the move by the House to investigate him.

Hon.Tyakul, said he was being investigated by the Assembly over a petition filed against him by the Councillors, and that in the course of it, the Councillors brought the same petition to the first one for investigation again, saying there is no difference between the first petition and the second one.

According to him, there is no cause for alarm, as the true position of things on the ground will be brought to light, adding that he is prepared to face the Committees because of the good things he has done.

Hon. Nathaniel Tyakul, expressed confidence in the Committees, saying truth must surely come to light, urging his teeming supporters to calm down and exercise patience with the development.
