SUSPECT OF CULPABLE HOMICIDE DISAPPEARED IN YOLA



A suspect of culpable homicide, Jibrilla Abdulrahaman, whose case was slated for mention today, at Yola High Court presided by Justice Abdul-Aziz Waziri, has disappeared.

The suspect who is standing trial for causing the death of one Abubakarhile Abdulrahaman, on or about the 19th November, 2018, at Toungo Ward, Yola South Local Government Area.

The accused was said to have engaged Abubakarhile, in a fight without premeditation and without any intention of doing more harm than necessary for the purpose of self defense exceeding the right of defence in striking (Abubakarhile) on the head with an iron which resulted in high injury degree.

NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the offence is culpable homicide not punishable with death contrary to section 193 (2) and punishable under section 193 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa state.

But when the case number ADSY/8c/2019, was mentioned and subsequently tendered before the court for mention, the suspect who supposed to be in the court was nowhere to be found.

Few minutes later, an officer of the Nigeria Prison Service by name Musa Jauro, came in and informed the court that the accused could not be traced in both Jimeta and Yola prison respectively.

Justice Abdul-Aziz therefore adjourned the case to 14th October, 2019, and ordered that the suspect be produced on the adjourned date.
