Lamido Adamawa Alh. Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, has pledged to look into the transportation need of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa state council.
The Lamido further appreciated the union for condoling him and the Emirate Council over the death of the State Chairman of Tapital Pulaaku, Alh Abdu Bali.
It could be recalled that some men suspected to be hired killers or kidnappers had on Tuesday night gunned down the Chairman at his residence in Lakare, Yola South Local Government Area.
But the royal father had while receiving the State Executive Council of the NUJ who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace today, promised to look into the transportation need of union as requested by the exco.
He congratulated the new leadership of the NUJ, and prayed for God's wisdom, guidance and protection to enable them succeed in discharging their duties so as to take the union to the greater height.
Speaking earlier while leading other exco of the union, the Chairman of NUJ in the state, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, told the royal father that they were at his palace primarily to solicit for his blessings and prayers.
Comrade Ishaka Dedan, disclosed that the NUJ Adamawa State Council is the only Council across the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), without an official vehicle.
According to him, lack of vehicle is seriously affecting the operation of the union, and said that the provision of the vehicle will enable the union to function more effectively.
He commended the purposeful leadership of the royal father which translated into the establishment of private radio station(FM Pulaaku) which is the first of its kind in the history of the country, construction of lock up shops at eid ground, Shagari royal hotel and remodeling of Fombina guest house.
He told him that the leadership of the union in the next few days is going to inaugurate Pulaaku FM chapel of the NUJ, making it the 9th officially registered chapel in the state, saying that the union is proud to be associated with his visionary and purposeful leadership.
