COMMISSIONER NOMINEES TO BE SCREENED UPPER WEEK, SAYS SPEAKER ADHA
Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has said that the House is considering screening of the Commissioner Nominees upper week.
According to Speaker, the house is planning to use next week for the collection of curriculum vitae of those nominated before commencing the screening exercise.
Recall that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, had yesterday forwarded names of 23 Commissioner Nominees for consideration and approval by the house.
But the Speaker who was speaking when he featured at a Hausa Programme"Tsokaci" on Radio Gotel today, hinted that the house will first and foremost collect the data of those nominated to enable them know who is who and subsequently venture into the screening exercise.
Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, disclosed that the house is going to use next week for the collection of curriculum vitae of the nominees and then upper week for the screening exercise.
On the issue of the suspension of Transition Committee Chairman of Numan Local Government Council, Hon. Nathaniel Tyakul, the Speaker asserted that the Chairman was suspended for alleged violation of operational guidelines.
He said the house had earlier received petition from the Councillors of the LGC and referred it to the House Standing Committee on Public Petition, saying in the course of the investigation of the allegations, another petition signed by 10 Councillors was brought to the house again.
According to him, the house was left with no option than to recommend for his suspension for 2 weeks to enable House Committees on Public Petition, Public Accounts and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to probe the allegations.
Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, assured that the Committees will do justice to the embattled chairman, saying the house will not allow any chairman to violate the guidelines.
