YUNGUR COMMUNITY PLEADS WITH FINTIRI TO CONSTRUCT DUMNE-SHELLENG ROAD
Stakeholders in Yungur land, Song Local Government Area, Adamawa State have made a passionate appeal to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to come to their aid by embarking on the construction of Mararaba Dumne-Shelleng road to ease movement of goods and services.
The Stakeholders under auspices of Yungur Development Association (YADA) have equally appealed to Governor to consider extending developmental projects most especially health facilities to Yungur land with a view to improving the living standard of the inhabitants of the area.
According to them, their communities have been neglected by the successive governments in terms of developmental projects for many decades, and pleaded with the Governor, to see the need of reaching out to them with projects.
The Stakeholders including the Head of Civil Service in the State, Dr. Edgar Amos, member representing Song Constituency in the House, Hon. Simon Isa, Justice Adamu Hobon (rtd), Secretary PDP in the state, Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, Chairman Yungur Development Association (YADA), Kefas Magaji, Royal Fathers, other prominent sons and daughters of the land.
Speaking while leading the delegation, Justice Adamu Hobon, (rtd) told the Governor that their visit was to congratulate him and wish him well in piloting the affairs of the state.
Hobon, added that their coming was also to present the request of Yungur community in general for his consideration, saying that their people have been yearning for road network for years but their dream could not come true.
He called on the Governor to come to their aid most especially by constructing Mararaba Dumne-Shelleg road as it would go along way in boosting both economic and agricultural activities in the area.
According to him, the road has been begging for government's attention but to no avail, saying military administration had commenced work on the road, but along the line abandoned it, explaining that its construction will ameliorate the hardship faced by their people.
He however, decried the incessant cases of kidnapping in their domain, and urged the Governor to intervene, commending him for the giant strides recorded so far in the state.
Justice Adamu Hobon (rtd) also applauded him for working closely with the Head of Service Dr. Edgar Amos, Member representing Song, Hon. Simon Isa and the PDP Secretary Abdullahi Prambe.
Responding, Governor Fintiri thanked them for visit and reiterated his administration's commitment towards the provision of democracy dividends to people at the grassroots.
Governor Fintiri, assured them that their request will be looked into it for necessary action, pledging to continue to strive assiduously so as to deliver on his mandate.
