GOV FINTIRI APPOINTS CARETAKER CHAIRMEN FOR 21 LGCs...SWEARING THURSDAY

Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the appointment of Caretaker Committee Chairmen and  their Deputies to oversee the affairs of the 21 Local Government Councils in the State.  Their appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of elected Chairmen on December 8th 2021. 20 YR OLD HOUSEWIFE JAILED FOR PUSHING HER RIVAL IN HOT WATER

A 20 year old housewife, Aisha Tukur, has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for pushing her 28 year rival, Aisha Sani in hot water. Aisha Tukur, who lives in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area, has also been ordered to pay the sum of N200, 000 as cost of treatment of the co-wife. Hon. Mathias Nuhu, of Criminal Area Court I Yola in Adamawa state convicted and sentenced Aisha, the 2nd wife after she was tried and found guilty of the offence. She was earlier dragged before the court by the elder brother of her victim, Baba Sabo Mohammed, for alleged causing of grievous hurt which contravened section 318 of penal code law. She was said to have pushed her rival and 1st wife in hot water where she pressed her into it until the water became cold as a result of which her victim sustained serious injuries. The victim was said to have cooked food and gave her child and that of the convict, but while the kids were eating, the son of the convict poured sand into the soup of the 1st wife...

ADAMAWA CJ SWEARS-IN 31 MAGISTRATES, CAUTIONS THEM ON CORRUPTION

Adamawa Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, on Monday, sworn-in 31 newly appointed magistrates and cautioned them to shun corrupt practices while discharging their duties. Those sworn-in include; Musa Alhaji Adamu, Aminu Abdulkadir,  Boniface Benjamin, Hasiya Yunusa Nyako, Mbursa Danjuma Gwani, Bilkisu Ahmed Tijjani, Dauyina Baba Wathi, Saleh Dalatu, Hayatu Abdulmalik, Hauwa Gambo, Aminu Sule, Ibrahim Ahmed Hamman, Jika Iya, Umar Sabo Mohammed. LG POLLS: ADAMAWA SIEC ISSUES 90 DAYS ELECTION NOTICE

Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) on Monday, issued 90 days election notice for the conduct of Local Government Councils elections in the state. The commission in a release signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Isa Shettima, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM by its Information Officer, Innocent Daniel Zira, said that the election notice commences on the 10th January, to 9th April, 2022 as required by LG administration Law. It could be recalled that the commission had earlier proposed 4th December, 2021 for the conduct of LG elections due to the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past chairmen on the 8th December, 2021, in line with the legal provision of 2 years tenure. MAN BLAMES THE "DEVIL" FOR DEFILING 11 YR GIRL IN ADAMAWA

A 25 year old mechanic, Innocent Joseph, has been remanded in a prison custody for allegedly defiling an 11 year old girl(names withheld). Innocent, however, blamed his action on the devil, saying "it was the devil who made me to do so". The chief magistrate court 1 Yola, Adamawa state ordered the remand of the accused person after he admitted committing the crime which contravened section 211 of the penal code law. The defendant who hails from Unguwan Sama, Hayin Gada in Girei Local Government Area, was apprehended and arraigned before the court by the state police command. When the substance of the offence was read and interpreted to him as prayed by the prosecutor, Seargent Sawe Nicholas, the accused person pleaded guilty to the alleged offence. He told Chief Magistrate Mohammed Abdullahi Digil, that it was the devil who made him to defile the little girl. LATE EX-PRINCIPAL, DANAILU SOOLAY, BURIED AMIDST TRIBUTES, TEARS

The remains of Danailu Soolay, a retired principal has been buried at his Mbai home town in Song Local Government Area, Adamawa state amidst tributes and tears. The interment which took place on Saturday, followed a funeral service held at the deceased's compound at Unguwan Abuja, Girei town in Girei LGA. Aged 62, Danailu, died and left behind wife, Makshena Danailu, 5 children, 3 grand children, aged mother and a brother, Micheal Soolay (Bnakim) of the Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC) Numan. The deceased and a retired principal passed onto glory in the early hours of Tuesday 4th January, 2022 at his residence at Unguwan Abuja after a brief illness.  It was a glorious home call for Danailu, as family members and tens of other mourners thronged his compound for funeral service and at Mbai for interment. The Chief Magistrate Court 1 sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has remanded, Yahaya Mohammed, a JSS 2 student for allegedly stealing 9 cell phones valued N428, 000. The 20 year old Yahaya was remanded by Chief Magistrate Muhammed Abdullahi Digil, after he pleaded guilty to the 4 count charge levelled against him by the prosecution. He was alleged to have stolen an infinix hot 10 valued N55, 000, camon 11 N50, 000, techno spark 4 N350, 000, povour 3 N40, 000, infinix hot 8 N45, 000, techno phone, N65, 000, nokia 105, N10, 000, itel 2160 N58, 000, techno T410, laptop N58, 000 and 1 ATM card of First Bank. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that some of the items stolen by the defendant and 4 others including Yaroro Augustine, Bashar Sakeram, Ahmadi Suname and Sani Kamali (now at large) were later sold to one Alhaji Laluri, who is now at large at the sum of N318, 000.
